Labyrinth: Steel & Wood · Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy explains what happens to information about you when you play Labyrinth: Steel & Wood (“the game”) on iPhone or iPad. The game is made by Ajit Soni (“we”). Questions are welcome at ajitsoni05@proton.me.
The short version
- The game has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours. Your progress stays on your device.
- We don't collect, sell or share your personal information.
- Ads are shown only when you choose to watch one, for more balls. They come from Google AdMob, which collects some information to show and measure them, as described below.
What stays on your device
Your progress, times, statistics, achievements, settings, gems, and the balls and boards you own are saved in the game's own storage on your device. They're included in your device's backups like any app's data. We never receive them. Deleting the game deletes them.
The game reads your device's motion sensors to tilt the board. That happens on the device, moment to moment, and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Purchases
Gem packs and Unlimited Continues are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and your payment details; we never see them. The game checks Apple's signed record of a purchase on your device, to give you what you bought.
Ads
When you run out of balls you can choose to watch an ad for five more. These ads come from Google AdMob. To show an ad, measure it and prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as:
- your device's IP address, from which it can tell roughly where you are;
- the advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking when the game asks (Apple's tracking prompt);
- how you interact with the ad, and technical information about your device and the app, including crash and performance data.
Google uses this information under its own privacy policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices:
- Tracking: you can allow or refuse tracking when the game asks, and change it later in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Ads still work if you refuse, but aren't personalised.
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): where the law requires it, Google's consent message asks first. You can change your choice at any time in the game, in Settings › Privacy choices.
Ads in the game are limited to content suitable for everyone.
Racing a friend nearby
When you race a friend nearby, your device and theirs connect directly to each other over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity. They exchange only what the race needs: where each ball is, when one falls or finishes, who won, and timing between the two devices. The connection is encrypted, nothing goes through the internet or to us, and nothing is kept after the race. The other device sees your device's name as iOS reports it to apps (on recent versions of iOS, just “iPhone” or “iPad”). iOS asks your permission before the game uses your local network.
Children
The game is for a general audience. It doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here and in the game, with a new date at the top.
